Specialist Palliative Care Nurse at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust

Hello my name is Joy Wharton and I’m a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse at UHMBT.

I’m an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Non-Medical Prescriber and am absolutely passionate about all things palliative care.

Based at Furness General Hospital in Barrow, I work clinically with colleagues in the hospital, community and St Mary’s Hospice, and in my leadership role with staff across the Trust and locality to provide the best quality of care for patients with palliative and end of life care needs.

Hatching Twitter at UHMBT

Being #InCharge of @WeNurses

A small group of us (Ed Northey, Lynne Wyre, Corinne Kemp and I) are leading a Listening into Action project to encourage our colleagues across the Trust to get active on Twitter.
